This unique handmade silver flower necklace has been created from cobblestones that used to be part of Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Imagine wearing a piece of history and thinking about everything that this cobblestone must have seen. This necklace would make such a thoughtful gift for anyone that loves history and Edinburgh.
Edinburgh's world famous Royal Mile runs from Edinburgh Castle down to Holyrood Palace and recently the pavements have been widened and the cobblestone lifted and relaid. The extra cobblestone were saved and cut and polished to create cabochons which I have then used in a limited jewellery collection.
This beautiful necklace has a little silver flowers and leaves sitting above the cobblestone which I have set in recycled sterling silver. The flowers have been darkened with a patina which enhances the cobblestone. The pendant hangs from an 18 inch chain which closes with a handmade sterling silver toggle clasp which I have shaped like a cobblestone.
The cobblestones of the Royal Mile are made from granite and basalt and this granite cobblestone has lovely pink and grey speckles.
The dimensions of the necklace are 30 x 30 mm (including the flowers) and the chain length is 18 inches. This necklace has been hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.
This unique necklace will be delivered gift wrapped and I'm happy to include a gift note with your message.
Other pieces of Edinburgh Royal Mile cobblestone jewellery are also available.
