This unique necklace carries a wonderful story and a little piece of Edinburgh’s history. The stone was once part of a cobblestone on Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile, the historic route that stretches from Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyrood. Following recent renovation work along the Royal Mile, surplus cobblestones were carefully salvaged, cut and polished, giving these historic stones a new lease of life as beautiful, meaningful pieces of jewellery.

I have set this cobblestone in recycled sterling silver and it has been hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.  It would make such a wonderful gift for someone that loves history or wants to keep a little bit of Scotland and Edinburgh with them.

The pendant hangs from an 18-inch chain, finished with a handmade sterling silver toggle clasp shaped like a tiny cobblestone.  The pendant (with the bale) measures 22 x 14 mm.

The cobblestones on the Royal Mile are made from granite and basalt and this granite one has beautiful pink and grey speckles through the stone.

To reduce unnecessary waste I am offering the option of wrapping your order in a gift box tied with a ribbon or simple wrapped carefully in tissue paper if a box is not required.
