This Edinburgh Royal Mile cobblestone necklace is a wonderful way to carry a piece of Scotland with you wherever you are.  This stone is part of a cobblestone and I have set it in recycled sterling silver with a little flower and leaves sitting above it.  It would make a very thoughtful gift for a nature or history lover.  Can you imagine this history that it must have seen?
 
Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile runs from Edinburgh Castle down to Holyrood Palace and recently the pavements have been widened and the cobblestone lifted and relaid.  The extra cobblestone were saved and cut and polished to create cabochons which I have then used to create jewellery.  Each piece is unique and they have been hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.
 
The pendant measures 27 x 13 mm and it hangs from an 18 inch chain with a toggle clasp shaped like a cobblestone.  The cobblestones of the Royal Mile are made from granite and basalt and this granite cobblestone has lovely pink and grey speckles.
 
To reduce unnecessary waste I am offering the option of wrapping your order in a gift box tied with a ribbon or simple wrapped carefully in tissue paper if a box is not required.
