This necklace design was inspired by ferns growing in the woodlands around where I live and the way in which a fern uncurls from a tight ball into a fully formed beautiful leaf. The necklace would make a thoughtful gift for a nature lover, gardener or for a silver wedding anniversary.
 
This necklace has been handmade from sterling silver sheet and wire and an oval amazonite gemstone. The surface of the silver has had a patina applied to it to darken the silver and enhance the design.  As part of the design I have handmade the first few centimetres of chain which can be seen in the images, the rest of the chain is a standard chain.
