These long black and gold handmade earrings have been created using the keum boo technique. Keum boo is an ancient Korean technique of applying a thin sheet of gold to reticulated silver.
 
I have created them from sterling silver which has been reticulated to produce an uneven surface and gold foil is then burnished onto the surface. I applied a patina to darken the silver and create a beautiful contrast with the gold.
 
These would make a wonderful gift and a smaller pair of keum boo earrings is also available as well as a keum boo necklace.
