I created this silver lichen twig necklace by recycling sterling silver off cuts and forming a round silver 'twig'.  Little lichen shapes lie along the branch with a raw nugget of peridot gemstone held in claws and nestled in the twig.   This unique necklace would make a wonderful gift for a nature lover, a Christmas gift or an anniversary gift.
 
Each time I create this necklace is unique, no two are ever the same although the finished necklaces are very similar is diameter, number of lichen shapes and position of the peridot.  I love the raw, natural shapes of the peridot gemstone nugget.
 
Peridot is the birthstone for August.
 
I have textured the silver to create a twig like surface and the little lichen cups have had 24 ct gold foil applied to them using the keum boo method.  I have darkened the silver with a patina to enhance the natural look of the pendant.  The silver chain passes through a silver tube on the back of the pendant and you can select the length that you would like from the menu.
