Inspired by woodland lichen this handcrafted sterling silver necklace features layered lichen shapes and delicate dangling lichen shapes in a T-bar style of necklace.  A little moonstone (4 mm) sits among the lichen elements, adding a subtle shimmer to the necklace.  Some of the lichen shapes have a layer of 24 ct gold foil applied to them adding a touch of warmth to the necklace.  The necklace fastens with a handmade toggle clasp.  
 
Made using traditional metalsmithing techniques and recycled sterling silver, this nature-inspired necklace has a softly textured finish that enhances its organic character. The asymmetrical design and drop detail creates movement while keeping the piece lightweight and wearable. 
 
I love that the detail of this necklace becomes more obvious when you study it, it feels like a personal piece of jewellery for the wearer rather than a showy piece for other people to see.  It mimics the feeling that there is a miniature world all around us in nature that is noticeable when we pay attention.

The width of the lichen section is 3 cm, the lichen dangle is 2.5 cm and the total length of the chain plus lichen bar is 18 inches (46 cm).
