This sterling silver ring with moonstone was inspired by the lichen that I see in the Scottish woodlands. I have designed this ring to wrap delicately around the finger in multiple bands. Tiny domed shapes sit at the ends of the ring bands like clusters of woodland lichen and sitting amongst them there is a 4 mm round moonstone set in sterling silver.
 
This ring has been created using traditional metal-smithing techniques and recycled sterling silver.  The little moonstone adds an ethereal feel to the design and I have gently textured the lichen shapes.  The ring bands remain open through the centre giving the impression of a little woodland path.
 
Each ring is individually handmade, making every piece unique.  No two are identical although the number of bands and approximate positions of the lichen will remain the same.
